Over the years, Playmobil has produced toy soldiers from several different periods of history. Some have lent themselves very well to HG Wells Little Wars. We have called them the gunpowder armies and we've grouped our favorites into five somewhat vague historical periods.

The Tricorne period of our Gunpowder Armies includes all of the 1700s.

( a David Hamer creation )

During the 1700s wars raged throughout the old world and the new. It was the time of Frederick the Great of Prussia and George Washington of the newly formed United States of America.

The French and the English squabbled over a new world that they would all eventually lose to "independence." Many of the European nations also fought their battles in an old world that would some day see most of their differences blurred and become the European Community!

We are proud to be able to present the fantastic Playmobil conversions created by David de Warrens Hamer to illustrate our Tricorne period!
