Mathias
(EsDoc)
is our September 2003 Featured
Guest from Germany
Mathias lives/works in
Peine/Lower Saxony/Germany. His "collection" is
centered around the French army of the year 1813
(pre-Leipzig). Mathias has been into creating these
uniform conversions using playmobil-figures for
almost 10 years now. The collection currently
numbers about 1,800 figures of which about one
third are fully dressed and equipped. Other than
the French troops he has built a few Prussians
(1813) as well and some British troops (from the
1815 campaign in Belgium). For any
questions/suggestions/critiques email Mathias at:

Wow!! This looks really
great!
I wonder where people find the time
to do such vast amounts of conversions,
though!!!

I wonder where people find the
time as well! Can he be persuaded to write up a
section about his customisations?

Looks fantastic - although I
think there has gone plenty of time and expertise
in the conversions.
Even the swords are all converted,
by the looks of it.
Really awesome - imagine the impact
an entire battlefield must have!

Love the Gordon Highlanders The
kilts and hats look great, and that banner is
splendid.
Very inspiring. Very Excellent!!
There is definitely reward in "striving for
excellence."
Cheers!

These are amazing...my
favourites have to be the Mamelukes.... but they
are all incredibly impressive.
Almost as impressive is how Mathias managed to get
the entire Light Cavalry Brigade to stay upright on
grass for the duration of a photocall.
Amazing!
